Buy Low Sell High?

Financial Freedom Friday

TURNING KNOWLEDGE INTO WEALTH BY $MAXWELL

Buying low and selling high is the goal.

Sounds Simple.

Goodness knows I’ve messed it up from time to time. And not just in trading.

On July 22, 2023, I bought a Tesla Model Y. What happened next?

EV prices took a nosedive and kept falling. It’s fine…

I love the car and I’m not selling it. But I definitely bought near the top.

Then I invested in bourbon... This is what I 'own'

When I was doing due diligence did I have tariffs on the checklist?

NOPE... Well, tariffs happened, and to say it's crushing the market is an understatement.

Still holding on to these... Guess we can drink the investment...

We all know the rule.

Buy low, sell high.

But in real life, we’ve all bought something right at the top. The difference is, when you buy a car or barrels of bourbon, there’s no dashboard telling you the price is stretched.

In the stock market, we actually have a really simple way to judge the price against historical prices, but how many people don't know or don't look??

Let's fix that RIGHT NOW

When you buy a stock that’s way overextended, you’re stuck with a terrible choice. Sell and lock in the loss, or hold and pray. Both are miserable. The only real fix is a system that keeps you from chasing it in the first place.

That’s why I recorded this week’s video:

video preview

Are you following me on You Tube? If not you should :)

I break down how I use moving averages to tell if a stock is expensive (extended too far), and where I look to sell premium instead of FOMOing into a trade.

Which brings me to your weekend homework. I've always hated follow-me-blindly trading strategies... So why don't you give this exercise a try?

I pulled 11 stocks reporting earnings next week so you can practice before Monday’s open.

ALLY, UAL, AAL, LUV, GM, NFLX, NEE, T, CCI, SLB, DOW

For each stock, look at the chart and answer two questions:

  1. Is it expensive or cheap right now compared to its moving averages?
  2. Where would you sell premium on it?

Grab a pen and write a couple sentences for each stock. Don’t just do it in your head.

Writing it down is what makes it stick, so you can spot these setups in under 10 minutes a day without staring at screens.

Then on Sunday I’m uploading a follow-up video showing how I did the homework myself, so you can see if you would trade the same stocks the way I would. If you're in the inner circle you will see me setting up the trades!!

Since you followed me on YouTube you'll get notified!

Get some reps in and make trading fun and profitable. You'll see me again on Sunday's YouTube. I'll see you right here next Friday!
