Financial Freedom Friday is for people serious about financial freedom. Every Friday I share what 28+ years of trading taught me. My mistakes. My systems. The lessons that got me out of Corp IT by 40. Learn from someone already doing it.
AI is incredible. It's also confidently wrong. Why should you care??
Last Saturday I was working around my house and thought, it's hot in here.
Walked over to the thermostat in the hallway.... No display.
I can't even make this up but I had just seen this post in the Orlando subreddit...
Sidenote... Did you trade Reddit with me? That trade hit it's target for Inner Circle Members
Looking at that blank thermostat the temperature instantly went up fifteen degrees and I know 100% imaginary heat inside my head. I'm sweating at the thought of sleeping without A/C in Florida in August, already doing the math on what a Saturday HVAC call costs just for the labor...
So I did what anyone would do. I went to AI for help.
Me: Hey, my A/C isn't working. Themostat has no power What do I do?
AI: Check the breaker.
Me: Yeah, I did that.
AI: Go find the air handler. There will be breakers there too.
Me: Okay, wait. The air handler has a little red light next to both breakers. Maybe that's the problem. Hey Gemini look at this picture are these tripped, or is this normal?
AI: That's your problem. Flip these breakers and your unit will start working again.
Me: Cool. I should probably be an HVAC guy.
I walk back to the thermostat.
Nothing.
So I go look at my other unit. The one that's running fine, cooling the other half of the house right now. Red lights on those breakers too.
Me: Hey, my working unit has the same red lights.
AI: Oh, I'm sorry, I was wrong. Those red displays are totally normal. My bad.
Great. But hey my A/C isn't working...
I use my own brain... This conversation with AI is not really going where I wanted. Let me check if there's water in the drain pan. HELLO...
I remember when the insurance company came out to inspect my home they verified both units had a float switch that kills the power so the house doesn't flood. I clear the pan, clean the drain line. The thermostat comes back on immediately. The unit kicks on 5 minutes later...
Here's the part I keep thinking about and it's not just this one time...
Being wrong is fine. Everybody's wrong sometimes.
AI is no doubt valuable. But, it was wrong with such confidence... In exactly the same voice it used when it was right. Same certainty. I had no way to tell the difference, if I didn't do my own work, and make my own decisions, I just made things worse flipping those breakers.
Gemini/Claude/Chat knows more than I ever will. It knows more than any human possibly can... For pulling knowledge out of the world in ten seconds, nothing comes close.
But my money, important business decisions it's a different job.
A broken A/C tells you it's broken.
The display goes black.
You know immediately.
A bad trade doesn't do that.
A bad strategy looks completely fine right up until it isn't, and by then the money's gone.
Do you know how much bad information is out there about stock trading??
I can't automate something that makes confident mistakes with my money. Can you??
And if your strategy is already simple... Which all of mine are... Have you downloaded my 10 minute trader kit? Sell the put, sell a spread, sell a covered call... Collect the premium, let time and math do the work... What is an agent actually adding? Other than complexity, possibility of a huge mistake?
You're adding complexity and uncertainty onto something that works. And now you own a new problem: what happens when it breaks? Not if. When.
Which brings me to the Saaspocalypse.
Right now a lot of people are convinced ServiceNow (NOW) and Salesforce (CRM) are going out of business. That the biggest companies in the world are going to take their contracts, their SLAs, their years of custom implementation, and hand all of it to an invisible resource at an AI company.
Sounds great in theory.
I did software support for the longest decade of my entire life. I'm pretty sure those 10 years where 20 years at least...
Here's what that decade taught me: no matter how good the technology gets, there are edge cases. There are bugs that only get solved by a person who has seen that exact bug before, in that exact setup, at two in the morning. That knowledge isn't in a doc. It isn't on a forum. It's in somebody's head, and there's nothing to scrape.
So when people tell me AI is going to replace humans, or that I should be careful selling premium in NOW, CRM, UBER, or whatever name is on the list this week to be replaced by AI... I laugh and let the math keep working.
It's been working too. We've traded ServiceNow four times in the Weekly Income Newsletter. Over $900 of profit on a single contract.
One trade. Monday morning. That's the whole thing.
The Weekly Income Newsletter goes out to Inner Circle members every Monday, and the price is going up next week. That's not a marketing tactic (I'm legitimately raising the price), and I'd rather you got in before I did. Join the inner circle today!

P.S. AI helped edit the typos in this email. It's pretty good at that. It's just not touching my account. And I bet it's not replacing all the services and jobs so many people claim it will so hope you are selling options with us it's been an amazing 2026
