I went to a local stock options meetup this week!
At a liquor store.

After the week we've had in the markets... The venue was pretty fitting.
What a wild week. Headlines moving markets 2-3% in either direction depending on what Trump posted that morning. What Iran says. All eyes on oil. Ceasefire. No ceasefire. Rinse and repeat.
When markets get like this I do one thing. I try my best to block out the noise and go back to my plan. It's not always easy. But volatile markets aren't the enemy. They're actually where premium sellers like us have an advantage. Higher fear = fatter premiums = better setups. You just have to be patient enough to wait for your levels. And once you are in a trade you just hold on!
At the meetup I talked to everyone from seasoned veterans who spent years managing the Merrill Lynch office in Winter Park, to complete beginners who didn't know where to start. Both in the same room.
That's what I love about the options and the stock market. The stock market doesn't care who you are. You can spend hours studying charts. Or you can set your trades up in 5 or 10 minutes, hit the lake in the morning, grab lunch with a friend, and be home in time for some family time. Both work.
You just have to decide what kind of trader you want to be.
I know what I prefer... Passive setups that let me live life. The liquor store is optional. Unless there's a meetup.
